The cave pool, which appears to be completely “virgin,” was found in Lechuguilla Cave in New Mexico, one of the largest and most famous caves in the world.

That said, the cave has never been touched by humans before, as scientists found this natural wonder at a depth of 213 meters below the cave entrance, which is also one of the highest (or deepest) in the world. . .

Lechuguilla Cave and its unique microorganisms have attracted the interest of microbiologists because, despite several million years of isolation from the terrestrial environment, they show widespread resistance to modern clinical antibiotics.

In a Facebook post on its official page, Carlsbad Caverns called the site “completely pristine” and noted that they believe bacteria living in the water had “evolved completely without human presence.”

The pristine pool discovered in the cave network appears almost otherworldly and is surrounded by frosty white rock. While the water may look cloudy with a creamy tint, the color is actually the product of an optical illusion.

This cave is located in New Mexico and is 203 km long.

Geoscientist and expedition leader Max Wisshak explained that the water in the pool is actually “crystalline” and is believed to come from ancient rainwater that seeped through the limestone above and fell or slid. along the walls of the cave to the pool.

“This pool has been isolated for hundreds of thousands of years and had never seen the light of day before that day,” said Carlsbad Caverns Chief of Natural and Cultural Resources Rodney Horrocks.

Unpolluted swimming pool is very important because nowadays almost everything is contaminated by human pollution. Even deep in Antarctica, garbage and other man-made products pollute the environment. It is rare that science is offered a completely clean sample of nature.
